  • 235g honey
  • 110g each of mixed peel, finely chopped
  • 310g plain flour
  • 100g coarsely chopped almonds
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon each of grated nutmeg and ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 90g icing sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons Kirsch
