Ingredients

  • Maple Nut Twist :
  • ½ C. warm water
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
  • 1 ¾ C. warm water
  • 3 eggs – slightly beaten with a fork
  • ¾ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 stick butter plus 1/3 C. butter – room temperature
  • 1 Tbs. Maple Extract
  • 1 Tbs. kosher salt
  • 8 to 9 C. unbleached all purpose flour
  • Maple Filling :
  • 1 ¾ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Maple Extract
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 C. finely chopped almonds (or whatever nut you prefer)
  • 1 C. melted butter
  • Maple Glaze :
  • 4 C. confectioners sugar – sifted to remove lumps
  • 1 tsp. Maple Extract
  • 4 to 6 Tbs. milk
