• 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
• 1/8 teaspoon thread saffron, crushed
• 3 medium carrots, cut into 1/2 inch pieces (1-1/2 cups)
• 1 cup dried apricots
• 1 cup dried pitted plums (prunes)
• 1 1/2 cups frozen pearl onions
• 1 recipe Mashed Sweet Potatoes (see recipe below)
