- 1 2-inch stick cinnamon or 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon thread saffron, crushed
- 3 medium carrots, cut into 1/2 inch pieces (1-1/2 cups)
- 1 cup dried apricots
- 1 cup dried pitted plums (prunes)
- 1 1/2 cups frozen pearl onions
