Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour   
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar  
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt   
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar  
  • zest of one lemon, finely grated   
  • 2 ounces butter, cold, cut into 1/4-inch cubes 
  • 3/4 cup cherries, fresh, pitted and halved  
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted, coarsely chopped 
  • 7 ounces heavy whipping cream 
  • 2 ounces whole milk   
  • 2 ounces sugar, coarse
