- 1 cup Sourdough starter sponged overnight
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking soda (put it in last)
1 tbsp Oil (canola)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup low fat butter milk
1 cup apple juice
1 large eggs
Mix the flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, buttermilk and apple juice with the sour dough starter. (prepare the starter the night before)
Let set 30 minutes.
add Baking soda.
Separate eggs beat the yolk a bit and add to the mixture and add the oil at the same time.
Whip the Egg whites to soft peaks and fold in to the mixture.
fold in the grated apple at the same time.
