1 1/2 tsp ground Basil
1 1/2 tsp ground Cumin
1/4 tsp ground Red Pepper
2 medium (about 1 1/2 lbs) sweet potatoes or yams, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices)
14 oz can stewed tomatoes, undrained, no salt added
2 1/4 cups water
15 oz can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup dark raisins
1/4 to 1 cup loosely packed fresh cilatro leaves chopped (to taste)
[3/4 cup bulgur -- I substituted 1/2 cup wild rice and cooked it separately with some of the sauce from this dish.]
