America's Favorite Candy Bar (AFCB)


Yellow cake (adapted from Martha Stewart's Yellow cake recipe):
2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups milk

Chocolate Buttercream:
3 sticks of unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2lbs of powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of meringue powder
2 1/2 oz. whole milk
4-5 oz melted milk chocolate, cooled

1/2 cup lightly salted dry roasted peanuts, chopped
Caramel sauce
Kosher salt
Piping bag
Paring knife
