Aunt Lisl's Butter Cookies Recipe


  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter or possibly margarine - (2 sticks) softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. brandy (optional)
  • 1 dsh salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 x egg yolk and minced nuts and raisins or possibly
  • 1 x egg white and coarse sugar colored with
  •     blue food coloring
