Ambot Tik (a Sour And Hot Dish) Recipe


  • 1/2 kg Fish, shark, catfish or possibly other 'meaty' fish
  •     Salt
  • 10 x Dry red chillies
  • 1/4 tsp Cummin seeds
  • 4 x Peppercorns
  • 1 x 1/4-inch piece of turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd
  • 4 x Cloves garlic
  • 1 x 1/2-inch piece of ginger
  • 1 x Marble-sized ball of tamarind mixed in:
  • 1 c. Water or possibly equivalent of 'instant' e.g Tamcon
  • 1 x Finely sliced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil
