- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. dry sherry or possibly wine (or possibly more apple juice)

- Â Â Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- 1Â 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with
- 2 Tbsp. cool water
