- 4 c. Peanut oil for deep-frying
- 3/4 tsp Cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. Thin soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Shao Hsing (Chinese rice wine) or possibly use dry

- 2 tsp Chinese dark vinegar

- 2 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Chinese sesame paste

- 1/4 lb Pencil-thin asparagus tips - (4" long)
- 1/3 c. Very thinly sliced red bell pepper
- 4 x Dry red chili peppers
- 3 x Scallions minced
- 2 Tbsp. Minced ginger
