- 1/2 c. pearl barley
- 2Â 1/2 c. chicken or possibly vegetable broth
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. grated high-quality Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. coarsely minced hazelnuts, lightly toasted
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
