Amish Friendship Bread Recipe


  • SOURDOUGH STARTER (Don't Chill) :
  • 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 ounce hot water
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. lowfat milk (room temperature)
  • Approximately 2 c. starter
  • 2 c. potatoes, mashed (we use instant potatoes & mix according to instructions), add in Warm
  • 1 teaspoon salt (if you put salt in the instant potatoes, don't add in this)
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • Flour (sufficient to make a soft dough)
