- 4 lrg Tart apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 5 lrg Egg whites
- 1 pch Salt
- 4 x Almond macaroons, dry and crumbled
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1Â 1/2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
- 1 pch Salt
- 1 x Sliver of lemon peel
- 1 c. Water
- 3 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract or possibly cognac vanilla *
