2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
5 medium garlic cloves-- minced
28 ounces tomato sauce
15 ounces diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon whole sugar (optional)-- date, palm, or cane
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 cup heavy cream*
