1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons crème de cassis liqueur
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 sprig fresh rosemary
2 whole cloves
4 black peppercorns
Vanilla Panna Cotta
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups half and half
1/2 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
4 1/2 teaspoons Knox unflavored powdered gelatin
6 tablespoons cold water
