Ingredients For the filling
  • 150g/5¼oz caster sugar, plus extra for sprinkling

  • 100ml/3½fl oz water

  • 1 vanilla pod, split

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 250g/8¾oz apple, peeled and sliced

  • 250g/8¾oz plums, stones removed, chopped

For the pastry
  • 4 pieces ready-made filo pastry (each 8 x 5cm/3 x 2in)

  • 100g/3½oz butter, melted, for brushing

To serve
  • freshly whipped cream
