Apple Upside-Down Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pillsbury's Best All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 5 to 7 Tablespoons cold water
  • GLAZE:
  • 2 Tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup pecan or walnut halves
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • FILLING:
  • 6 cups sliced, peeled apples (I use Granny Smith)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 Tablespoons margarine or butter
