We all love those special green salads our friends trot out for parties and potlucks. Too often, though, the list of ingredients is a mile long - and that's just for the dressing, which seems silly given the variety of vinaigrettes available at most supermarkets. Here, we pared a 'party salad' down to the basics: lettuce, something crunchy (pecans) and something unusual (apples). Toss them together with an interesting bottled vinaigrette, and you'll have a hit salad everyone will rave about.
