- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling out dough
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 recipe Pate Brisee (Pie Dough)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional), plus more for serving
