Anadama Bread


  • 4-1/2 to 5 cups  all-purpose flour
  • 2 packages  active dry yeast
  • 2 cups  cold water
  • 1 cup  yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup  molasses
  • 1/3 cup  shortening
  • 2 teaspoons  salt
  • 2   eggs
  • 2 tablespoons  butter, melted
