Streusel-topped Peach Pie

Ingredients

  •   Pie:
  • 1   unbaked single-crust pie shell, preformed or ready-to-roll, thawed if frozen OR: homemade pastry (see photos 1-4, below)
  • 3 tablespoons  finely chopped pecans
  • 1-1/2 medium-size  peaches
  • 3 tablespoons  granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons  cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon  ground allspice
  •   Streusel:
  • 1 cup  all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup  firmly packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons  (3/4 stick) butter, cut into pieces and at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup  pecans, chopped
  •   Garnish (optional):
  •   Whipped cream, ice cream or whipped topping
