Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup  all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup  granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon  ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon  ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/4 cup  (1/2 stick) butter, cut into small pieces
  • 4   Granny Smith apples (1-3/4 pounds), peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons  lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon  almond extract
