Apple Raisin Nut Triangles


  • 2   Granny Smith apples (about 14 ounces total), peeled, cored and cut into small dice (about 3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup  dark raisins, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup  packed light-brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon  ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon  ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon  ground cardamom
  • 2 tablespoons  butter, cut up
  • 1/4 cup  chopped walnuts
  • 16 sheets  phyllo dough (from 1-pound box), thawed if frozen
  •   Powdered sugar, for dusting
